COLUMBUS, Oh. – On Monday afternoon, the Bellarmine University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 contest to No. 15 Ohio State at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center to wrap up the team's opening weekend of the spring season.
With the loss, the Knights move to 0-3 on the season while the win improves the Buckeyes to 2-0.
Playing in the No. 1 spot,
Ekaterina Tikhonko nearly pulled off a first set win over No. 8 ranked Luciana Perry, but she ultimately fell 6-4, 6-0 in the match. Ohio State would go on to sweep the singles portion of the match before winning the first two doubles matches to clinch the point and secure the team win.
Up next, Bellarmine will take to the road one final time to begin its dual season, traveling to Greensboro, NC to take on Elon University at Piedmont Indoor Tennis.
