LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Bellarmine University women's tennis team wrapped it its regular season schedule with a final match at the University of Kentucky, falling 4-1 on Sunday night at the Hillary J. Boone Tennis Center.
Bellarmine continued its hot streak in doubles play, earning the point over the Wildcats. Kentucky got the first win on court one, but the Knights would not give up. The pair of
Vendula Kryslova and
Reese Parker secured their third doubles win of the week on court two, topping their opponent 6-4 before
Marika Caruk and
Shu Grosso clinched the point for Bellarmine with a 6-3 victory on court three.
Moving into singles, Kentucky rebounded mightily, winning each of the first four matches to clinch the match win. No. 5 and 6 singles went unfinished as the Wildcats pulled ahead 4-1.
The Knights finished their season with a 3-20 overall record while going 1-8 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.
