JACKSONVILLE, Fl. – Bellarmine softball senior pitcher Claire Lehmkuhler was named to the Academic All-ASUN Team, the league announced Wednesday.

The honor is Lehmkuhler's second in her career. She joins Grace Werner as the only players to earn multiple Academic All-ASUN laurels.

Lehmkuhler led the Bellarmine pitching staff in strikeouts this season, recording 38 in 80.2 innings of work. Overall, she collected two wins on the year and turned in two complete games in 24 total appearances, 21 starts, and owned a 6.68 ERA and 1.92 WHIP. She also contributed 5.0 innings in a combined shutout effort against Bethune-Cookman on March 1.

A Versailles, Ky. native, Lehmkuhler finished her time at Bellarmine as one of the best pitchers in program history, ranking fourth in career appearances (124), sixth in career strikeouts (274) and seventh in career innings pitched (486.0) while leading Bellarmine in the Division I era in wins (18) strikeouts (274), starts (94), innings pitched (486.0) and shutouts (3). Last season, she became the seventh player in program history to make 100 career appearances and was just the second to do so in the Division I era.

The Academic All-ASUN Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
