LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Logan Powell has come aboard the Bellarmine University women's basketball staff as the director of basketball operations, head coach Monique Reid announced Thursday.

Powell arrives at Bellarmine after being an assistant coach for two seasons at Division II Kentucky State University, where she helped lead the Thorobreds to a 2023-24 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference West Division regular-season title.

"Logan is an exceptionally organized professional with a strong background in administration," Reid said. "She recently earned her MBA from Midway University, further strengthening her qualifications and strategic insight. Her administrative experience, combined with her advanced education, positions her as a valuable asset to the team. Logan's skills in organization, planning and operations will significantly contribute to team efficiency and overall success."

In the championship season at Kentucky State, Powell helped power the Thorobreds to a 19-6 overall record, including 15-4 in the SIAC. KSU also made an appearance in the SIAC Tournament finals.

"I grew up watching Coach Mo compete (at the University of Louisville) and lead with passion and grit, and those early memories helped shape my own love for the game," Powell said. "She set a standard that I looked up to, and it's incredibly meaningful to now have the chance to work with her; it's something I don't take for granted. I'm grateful for her belief in me and can't wait to pour my heart into this team and this program."

Powell played three seasons (2014-17) at Kentucky State. She was a 6-foot forward who appeared in 75 games with 41 starts for the Thorobreds and amassed over 600 points and 370 rebounds while shooting 48.2 percent from the floor.

Powell played her freshman season at Norfolk State University, where she was a 2013-14 MEAC All-Rookie Team selection after averaging 8.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Powell was a four-year varsity letter winner at Marion County (Ky.) High School and was named honorable-mention All-State as a senior along with being chosen to play in the Kentucky/Indiana All-Star Game. She was a member of the 2012-13 squad that went 39-0 en route to capturing the KHSAA state championship.

A native of Lebanon, Kentucky, Powell earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Kentucky State in 2017 and obtained an MBA in sport management from Midway in 2025.
