LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine women's tennis kicked off its 2025-26 campaign in grand fashion this past weekend, sweeping the Bellarmine Alumni Invite for a 4-0 opening weekend.
The Knights took down Thomas More (7-0) and Grace College (6-1) on Saturday before topping Oakland City 7-0 twice on Sunday.
Head coach
Brian Slack picked his six starters and stuck with them for all matches. Senior
Vendula Kryslova, juniors
Nikola Kollaritsch and
Lillie Willis, sophomore
Reese Parker and freshman Claudia Fusté Fernández all registered perfect 4-0 performances in singles play. Junior
Marika Caruk tallied the only blemish on the Bellarmine scorebook over the weekend but still turned in an impressive 3-1 showing.
In doubles, the Knights were unstoppable, going a perfect 12-0 across all four matches. The combo of Kryslova/Parker rejoined after sharing success last season to go 4-0 out of the No.1 flight. Caruk and Kollaritsch teamed up to win three times out of the No. 2 spot and once out of the No. 3 spot while Fusté Fernández joined forces with Willis for three wins out of flight three and one win in spot No. 2.
Up next, Bellarmine will hit the road for the rest of the fall, first traveling to Bloomington, IN for the
