Arion announces 2026 softball schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine softball head coach Whitney Arion has today announced the team's 51-game slate for the 2026 season.

Arion is entering her first season at the helm of the program after spending last season as the Director of Player Development/Video Analysis at Eastern Kentucky University.

Bellarmine is set to play 17 games at Knights Field this year with one multi-team event at home. The Knights' will play a 24-game Atlantic Sun Conference schedule with four home and four away series. This is the second season in which the ASUN will play its division-based conference schedule with Bellarmine in the Gold Division along with Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, EKU, Lipscomb and North Alabama.

The Knights will begin their season with the first of five multi-team events February 6-8 in Carrollton, GA at the University of West Georgia's Opening Weekend event. Bellarmine will play five games there, facing off against Drexel and West Georgia twice each with a final game against Georgia State.
From there, BU will travel to Chattanooga, TN for the Chattanooga Challenge February 13-15, taking on the host Mocs as well as Canisius, Ohio University and Middle Tennessee (twice).

Bellarmine will follow with its first home games of the season, hosting Western Illinois and Northern Kentucky for the Bellarmine Softball Classic February 20-22 where the Knights will take on the Leathernecks and the Norse twice each.

On February 24, the Knights will make the short "road" trip to the University of Louisville for an in-state battle with the Cardinals before heading to Madeira Beach, FL February 27 to March 1 for the Make It Happen Games. Making its third appearance in the tournament, Bellarmine will take on Bethune-Cookman, Siena, Monmouth, UMass and UAlbany in its fourth MTE of the season.

The Knights will return to Louisville for their final in season tournament the following weekend, March 6-7, where they will take part in Louisville's Cardinal Classic with contests against LIU (twice) and Ball State.

Bellarmine will play a its lone home midweek game on March 12 as a final tuneup for ASUN play, hosting IU Indy before welcoming Lipscomb to town for a three-game series March 14-15.
The following week, the Knights embark on their first conference road trip, traveling to Richmond, KY for a three-game series at EKU March 21-22. On Wednesday, March 24, BU will stay on the road with another in-state matchup in Lexington at Kentucky.

After the four-game road trip, Bellarmine will return home for another ASUN series, this time hosting North Alabama March 28-29.

From there, the Knights will play a midweek game at Evansville on April 1 before traveling to Clarksville, TN for a three-game ASUN series at Austin Peay April 3-4.

Bellarmine returns to Knights Field April 11-12 to host a three-game ASUN series against Central Arkansas before making a four-game road trip through Tennessee, starting with a midweek contest at Tennessee Tech on April 14 and ending with three ASUN games at Lipscomb April 18-19.

The Knights follow the trip with their final home games of the season, hosting EKU for a three-game ASUN series April 25-26. BU ends the regular season and conference schedule on the road, playing three games at North Alabama May 1-2.

The ASUN Conference Tournament is scheduled for May 5-9 in Jacksonville, FL at the UNF Softball Complex.
