LONG GROVE, Ill. — Sophomore
Max Terrell, who was playing as an individual, tied for 12th in posting the Bellarmine University men's golf team's top score Monday-Tuesday in the Kemper Lakes Intercollegiate at Kemper Lakes Golf Club.
Drake's Jake Weissenburger, who carded a 5-under 211 over three rounds, was not only the medalist, he was the lone golfer to finish under par. South Dakota's Jack Holtz was the runner-up at an even-par 216. The third-place finisher, South Dakota's Joe Rohlwing, was 3-over.
Terrell was the lone Knight to shoot in the 70s in all three rounds. His top score was a second-round 74 after opening with a 75 and concluding with a 78.
The low round for Bellarmine was a 1-over 73 and shared by three different Knights. Freshman
Brayden Carlisle did it in the opening round, and juniors
Graydon Laughlin and
Ben Davenport recorded the score in the final round.
Laughlin (232) tied for 27th, Davenport (238) tied for 44th and Carlisle (244) tied for 53rd. Junior
Ben Wulkopf (249, 68th) and sophomore
Landon Stillwell (252, t-72nd) rounded out the Knights.
Bellarmine (954) placed 11th as a team. Drake (886) was the team champion by eight strokes over South Dakota.
