SOUTH BEND, In. – Bellarmine women's tennis concluded its three-match road weekend with a pair of losses at Notre Dame, falling 4-0 in the first match and 5-2 in the second on Sunday at the Eck Tennis Pavillion
In the early morning match, senior
Vendula Kryslova and sophomore
Reese Parker held their own against the opponents, trailing 4-3, but were unable to finish due to the double point being clinched.
Kryslova held a 4-2 advantage in the second set of her singles match was also unable to finish the match due to the clinch.
In the afternoon session, Notre Dame once again secured the doubles point while juniors
Nikola Kollaritsch and
Marika Caruk were locked in a tight 3-3 battle that went unfinished.
Parker finally secured Bellarmine's first point of the day on singles court three. After winning the opening set 6-3, she stumbled with a 6-1 defeat and had to battle back, eventually beating her opponent 1-0 (18-16) in the final set.
On court six,
Nikola Kollaritsch added another point for the Knights. After dropping the first set 6-2, she rallied for a 7-5 victory in set two before coming all the way back with a 1-0 (10-6) win in the third set to take the match.
Up next, Bellarmine will make the journey to Lexington, KY where they will face off against University of Kentucky in a doubleheader on Wednesday, February 18.
