LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University wrestling team is set for its second trip to the Southern Conference Championships this weekend, traveling to Asheville, NC March 6-7.
The championship will be held at UNC Asheville's Kimmel Arena and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Knights (7-8, 4-4 SoCon) are making a postseason run for just the second time after recently finishing the transition to Division I. In their first trip to Asheville,
Devan Hendricks came away with an individual championship in the 184-pound weight class, earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Along with conference bragging rights, Bellarmine can also once again secure an automatic bid to the National Championships. The SoCon earned 10 total allocations this season, one spot per weight class, which will be awarded to the winner of each division. There are also 24 at-large bids available for the best wrestler in the country who may not secure an automatic bid.
Each weight class at the SoCon Championship will feature a nine-man bracket.
