Baseball Drops Midweek Game at Morehead State

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University baseball team dropped a midweek matchup at Morehead State on Tuesday, falling 13-3 on the road.

Bellarmine (16-20, 9-6 ASUN) saw its offense cool off after totaling 36 hits over the weekend.

Morehead State (18-18, 5-7 OVC) recorded twelve hits and scored in every inning, highlighted by a multi-RBI performance from Aubrey Kearns, who entered the contest hitting .413 on the season and launching two home runs in the win.

The Knights found a few bright spots offensively, as Jake Bell delivered a pinch-hit home run—his seventh of the season. Landon Akers continued his strong stretch, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Cole Huett also provided a spark after entering in the bottom of the fifth inning, driving in a run with an RBI single as Bellarmine finished with nine hits on the afternoon.

Up Next, Bellarmine remains on the road in ASUN Conference play at Austin Peay with a three-game series Friday through Sunday in Clarksville, Tennessee.
