LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Marshall scored a pair of goals in quick succession in the second half that helped lead the Thundering Herd to a 4-2 win over the Bellarmine University women's soccer team Sunday night in Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

Marshall (4-2-2) took control when Geovanna Souza and Maria Chaves scored less than three minutes apart, the latter in the 72nd minute.
Bellarmine answered when sophomore forward
Katie Paulakonis sent in a rebound off a shot from freshman forward
Brooklyn Donohue in the 74th minute for her first goal of the season. Paulakonis then nearly made it a one-score game, but her header caromed off the left post.
Bellarmine had some unfortunate luck early. In the 10th minute, it appeared as if Marshall's Isobel Young might have been crossing to a teammate but found the net instead. The Herd then took a 2-0 advantage into the break when Wiktoria Mikrut sank a penalty kick in the 38th minute.
The shot totals were nearly identical. Marshall had a 14-13 edge in overall shots, but they were even at seven apiece on frame.
Bellarmine will host Morehead State at 1 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, Sept. 20.
