JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Bellarmine University women's soccer team opened Atlantic Sun Conference play Thursday with a 1-1 draw against North Florida at Hodges Stadium.
Sophomore forward
Katie Paulakonis scored in the first half for Bellarmine (2-4-2, 0-0-1 ASUN), but North Florida (3-2-4, 0-0-1) managed to equalize the contest in the 85th minute.
All four of Paulakonis' goals this season have come in the last three games. Her latest was delivered in the 26th minute against the Ospreys. Following a corner kick, UNF goalkeeper Sofia Miliancano made a pair saves, but the latter, on a kick save off a shot from close range, deflected to Paulakonis, who slotted a shot from 7 yards inside the left post.
Although consistently under pressure, Bellarmine's defense held firm and rarely allowed a dangerous chance. However, North Florida was able to break through with less than six minutes left on a goal by Taylor Tamares. The Knights immediately disputed the goal, seeking an offsides, but there was no video review.

Bellarmine will play at 1 p.m. (ET) Sunday in an ASUN contest at Jacksonville.
