STANFORD, Calif. — Bellarmine field hockey fell 5-0 to Stanford on Friday afternoon in California.
The Knights kept the Cardinal to just one goal in the opening half, trailing 1-0 at the break. Stanford added two goals in the third quarter and two more in the fourth to secure the victory.
Megan Clauser recorded 11 saves in goal for Bellarmine, while Annie Malloy added a defensive save. The defensive save marked Malloy's second of the season, with both coming in back-to-back games. Stanford outshot the Knights 25-0 and held a 6-0 advantage in penalty corners.
Bellarmine will continue its West Coast trip in its next contest facing UC Davis on Sunday in Davis, California.
