Former Bellarmine University baseball pitcher Nolan Pender joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2025 season.
In 2024, Pender completed a five-year career with Bellarmine. The right-hander finished his tenure fourth in program history in starts (45), tied for fourth in strikeouts (240), eighth in innings pitched (255.2) and 10th in appearances (68) while serving as both a starter and reliever.Â
Pender's 86 strikeouts in 2023 were tied for the seventh most in a single season. The Louisville native finished his playing days atop a slew of D1-era program records — all but one of his outings came after the Knights’ transition from D2. He garnered an ASUN Pitcher of the Week accolade in 2023.
Pender was a four-time ASUN Honor Roll recipient after being an Academic All-GLVC honoree his freshman year. In his last two seasons, he was a member of the College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team.
