Former Bellarmine University baseball pitcher Ross Goldschlag was promoted to assistant coach/pitching in June of 2025 after being a student assistant with the Knights.

In Goldschlag's season as a student assistant, Bellarmine in 2025 set Division I-era program records for total wins (17, four more than previous high) and ASUN wins (11) while recording its first-ever D1-era victory over both a nationally ranked opponent and a College World Series qualifier after defeating No. 21 Louisville 10-9 on May 13.

In 2024, Goldschlag was a graduate transfer at Bellarmine after spending his first four years at Sonoma State. The native of Encinitas, California, led the Knights in saves (four) and opposing batting average against (.209), ranked second in relief appearances (20), tied for second in strikeouts (31), was third in innings pitched (39.1) and was fourth in total appearances (20).

Goldschlag was an ASUN Roll recipient and member of the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team.

As a junior at Sonoma State, Goldschlag built a 4-2 record while tying for the team lead in pitching appearances with 13 and ranking second in batting average against (.248) and WHIP (1.28). The right-hander tossed 2.0 innings or more in 10 appearances and logged 33.2 innings for season

Goldschlag played high school baseball at La Costa Canyon in California and earned the victory in coach Justin Machado’s 500th career win.
