Bellarmine University Athletics

DJ Vogt

DJ Vogt was named assistant coach of the Bellarmine men’s golf team ahead of the 2022-23 season. Vogt established himself as one of the program’s most consistent performers as a four-year standout at Bellarmine from 2014-2018.

The Louisville native and Trinity High School product earned GCAA All-American honorable mention as a junior and was three times a GCAA All-Midwest Region selection. He competed at the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships as an individual, finishing inside the top 20 in 2017.

Vogt earned All-GLVC honors three times and helped Bellarmine capture the 2017 GLVC Championship with a decisive 12-stroke win in the medal-match. Additionally, he captured three individual titles during his career, including medalist honors twice at the Dan Salisbury Memorial in October of 2014 and 2016 and co-medalist honors at the AMFAM Spring Invitational in March 2016.

He made a record-setting performance at Awarii Dunes Golf Course en route to a runner-up finish at the 2017 NCAA Midwest/Central Regional. Vogt posted three rounds in the 60s, including a program-record 63 in the second round.

Consistency was always a strong suit for Vogt as he carried stroke averages between 72–75 each season, notching over 20 top-10 finishes and multiple runner-up honors. He shot in the 70s or better in the vast majority of his collegiate rounds.

Vogt also excelled academically, as well as athletically. He was twice named a GCAA All-America Scholar, four times an Academic All-GLVC honoree and received the prestigious GLVC Council of Presidents Academic Excellence Award in 2018.
