Yashira Rhymer-Stuart, the 2019 Division II indoor national champion in the high jump and a six-time All-American at Bellarmine University, joined the Knights track and field women's and men's coaching staffs as an assistant specializing in jumps prior to the 2019-2020 season.
Rhymer-Stuart concluded her exemplary athletic career at Bellarmine in 2018-19 where, as a senior, she captured the first national championship in program history — women's or men's — after placing first in the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Rhymer-Stuart nearly added a second national title in the outdoor season before finishing as the runner-up in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Rhymer-Stuart ended her storied career on a resounding note, fitting for a student-athlete who made a big mark early in her time at Bellarmine and just kept adding one more significant contribution after another over the course of her tenure. As a sophomore in 2017, Rhymer-Stuart earned her first two All-America accolades, gaining second-team honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons after placing in the 9-12 range in the high jump at the respective NCAA Championships.
Rhymer-Stuart took her performance to another level as a junior in 2018. She garnered first-team All-America acknowledgements in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, placing seventh and third in the high jump at the respective NCAA Championships. That set the stage for the pinnacle of her career as a senior in 2019 when she brought home the program's first-ever national title.
Rhymer-Stuart amassed six All-America honors at Bellarmine, a program record for individual events. She hauled in seven All-Midwest Region plaudits, four GLVCÂ titles and five All-GLVCÂ awards.
