Nick Drexler

Nick Drexler began as an assistant coach for the Bellarmine University softball program in the 2013 season.

With help from Drexler, the Knights in 2014 set school records for overall wins (37), Great Lakes Valley Conference victories (27) and consecutive wins (12) while finishing as the runner-up in the GLVC Tournament and advancing to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the second time in school history. 

In 2015, Drexler helped lead the Knights to a 32-16 record, including 20-8 in the GLVC, marking the first back-to-back 30-win seasons in program history. The 32 victories tied for the second most in Bellarmine history.

With the help of Drexler's tutelage, Ally Foster in 2014 became the first All-American for BU softball, earning consensus first-team honors after also being named the GLVC Player of the Year.

A native of Louisville, Drexler is a teacher in the Jefferson County School System. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in Louisville before receiving a bachelor’s degree from Lindsey Wilson College. He went on to earn master’s degrees from Georgetown College and the University of Louisville.

Drexler has a wife, Tara, and son, Dare.
