Clayton Bachman joined the Bellarmine University women’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2024-25 campaign.

In his first season with Bellarmine, Bachman helped the Knights set the program's benchmark for success in the NCAA's highest level, as BU set new Division I-era records for total wins (18), ASUN wins (eight), road wins (nine) and winning streak (six) while also winning its first-ever ASUN Tournament game.

Before arriving at Bellarmine, Bachman spent two-and-a-half seasons as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Rockford University in Illinois. The native of Metamora, Illinois, was the program’s junior varsity coach in 2023-24 as well. In addition, Bachman had been the AAU 16u national coach of the Illinois Attack since 2022.

Bachman played men’s basketball in college at Rockford in 2018-19 and Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, in 2021-22. He played four years of prep ball at Metamora (Ill.) High School.

Bachman earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Rockford in December of 2023. He is pursuing a master’s degree in communication at Bellarmine.
