Art Henry was the head coach of the Bellarmine University women’s golf program from 2004 until his retirement in February 2026. Henry starred for the Knights men’s team as a player during his collegiate days.
During Henry’s coaching tenure, Bellarmine has sent individuals to regional competition on four separate occasions. In 2013-14, the Knights had perhaps their best season under Henry, breaking the team scoring record by seven shots.
Also during Henry's time at Bellarmine, the Knights annually boasted multiple WGCA All-American Scholars. Bellarmine has placed at least two players on that prestigious academic team virtually every year since 2008, including six each in three straight seasons from 2022 to 2025. He has also guided seven ASUN Honors Graduates since the school joined the league in 2020-21.
Henry holds an esteemed spot in Bellarmine golf lore. He was one of the primary members on the Knights’ undefeated team of 1970 that advanced to the NCAA Small College Championship.
In addition to coaching Bellarmine’s golf program, Henry’s career has always been heavily involved in the sport. He has been the Vice President of Marketing at Louisville Golf Club Company; the First Director of the Professional Clubmaker’s Association; a club designer for Austad’s Golf, Peerless Golf and Striker Golf; and a golf instructor known as “The Swing Doctor” on the television show Inside Kentuckiana Golf.
Henry earned both his bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree from Bellarmine.
