Noah Tippen

Noah Tippen joined the Bellarmine University tennis program as an assistant coach for both the Knights women’s and men’s teams prior to the 2020-21 season.

Prior to arriving at Bellarmine, Tippen was a men’s assistant at Mississippi State and worked with the Bulldogs players for two seasons prior to that while serving as a manager/racquet technician as he completed his bachelor’s degree in sport administration. A powerhouse over Tippen’s three years, the Bulldogs finished 2018 with a No. 5 national ranking and made the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals and completed 2019 with a No. 9 national ranking and advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA Tournament. MSU captured back-to-back SEC titles in 2018 and 2019 and rose as high as No. 2 in the nation during Tippen’s tenure.

At Mississippi State, Tippen worked with several highly decorated players including: Nuno Borges, the 2019 ITA National Player of the Year, a three-time SEC Player of the Year, a three-time ITA All-American in singles and a two-time ITA All-American in doubles; Giovanni Oradini, a two-time ITA All-American in singles, a 2019 ITA All-American in doubles and a two-time first-team All-SEC member; Strahinja Rakic, a two-time ITA All-American in doubles and two-time first-team All-SEC honoree; Niclas Braun, a 2019 ITA All-American in doubles; Trevor Foshey, the 2018 SEC Tournament MVP; Florian Broska, the 2018 ITA Southern Region Rookie of the Year; and Gregor Ramskogler, the 2019 ITA Southern Regional Championships singles champion.

During Tippen’s stint with the Bulldogs, Borges achieved a No. 1 national ranking in singles play and Oradini a No. 5 rating. The doubles team of Borges/Rakic earned a No. 1 national ranking, Braun/Oradini garnered a No. 3 rating and Braun/Foshey received a No. 7 ranking. Borges was the 2019 NCAA singles runner-up while Oradini/Braun advanced to the NCAA doubles semifinals.

A native of Trussville, Alabama, Tippen played from 2015-17 at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. From 2018-20, he spent time as an assistant tennis pro at Magnolia Tennis Club in Columbus, Mississippi; The Meadow Club of Southampton in Southampton, New York; Prouts Neck Country Club in Scarborough, Maine; and Inverness Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama.
