Damar Williams

Former Bellarmine University track and field standout Damar Williams returned to the program as a sprints coach for both the men’s and women’s teams prior to the 2021-22 season.

Williams had a distinguished career as a sprinter for Bellarmine from 2010-14 and was named to the program’s All-Decade Team. The native of Jackson, Michigan, owns a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference titles and six total All-GLVC acknowledgements.

Williams was the 2012 GLVC champion in the indoor 55 and was a member of the GLVC title-winning 4x100 outdoor relay team that same season. He is a part of the 4x200 and 4x400 indoor relay teams that own the program records, and he remains the freshman record holder in the indoor 55 and 200. Before they were broken in 2020-21, Williams had held the program records in the indoor 60 and outdoor 100.

Williams was an assistant track and field coach in 2018 at Eastern High School in Louisville, where he helped guide multiple All-State performers.

After graduating from Bellarmine, Williams has worked continuously at University of Louisville Peace Hospital since 2014. In 2017, he earned a master’s degree in sports administration from Saint Thomas University.
