As a freshman, led team in blocks (55) while ranking second in points (243.5) and kills (203) and fourth in points per set (2.44) and kills per set (2.03)…Started in 27 of 28 matches and appeared in 100 sets while collecting 50 digs and 10 service aces…In 16 ASUN matches, accumulated 124.5 points, 106 kills, 29 blocks and 25 digs…Tallied 10 kills or more in 10 matches, including six with 13 or more…Amassed season-high 16 kills Aug. 28 against IUPUI…Notched two blocks or more in 13 contests, including nine with at least three…Registered season-high six blocks Sept. 18 against Georgetown…Smacked season-best three service aces Sept. 17 against Fairleigh Dickinson…Recorded double-digit kills in four of the first five matches…Amassed 13 kills apiece in back-to-back ASUN matches against Jacksonville on Sept. 26 and North Alabama on Oct. 1…Posted at least three blocks in four of five matches from Sept. 3-11.

BEFORE BELLARMINE: Gates was a four-year letter winner in high school and accumulated a district honorable mention award and two second team awards.  She appeared on the 2020 Under Armour All-American Watch List and led her team in kills and attacks all four years.
