Andrew Hundley was named an assistant coach on the softball staff in October of 2025.
Hundley joins Bellarmine after his recent retirement from working in public education for the last 28 years.
During his time in education, Hundley spent 20 years as a head softball coach, beginning his tenure at John Hardin High School in 2002. He coached the Bulldogs for seven years, leading John Hardin to its only softball regional appearance in 2007.
In 2010, Hundley was named the head softball coach at duPont Manual High School where he coached until 2023. With the Rams, Hundley amassed 304 wins and nine District Championships.
Overall, Hundley amassed a 364-199-1 record as the head coach of Manual and John Hardin High School. After his final season in 2023, he ranked 16th all-time in wins in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association for fastpitch softball. He was named the 2007 News Enterprise Coach of the Year with John Hardin and earned two 7th Region Softball Coaching Staff of the Year awards at Manual.
In addition to his time at the high school level, Hundley was a volunteer assistant coach for Transylvania in 2016. He also coached high school football at John Hardin and Elizabethtown High School for 15 years.
He is a 16-year certified member of the Epstein Hitting Academy and owned and operated D1 Hitting School from 2009-2023 where he instructed both baseball and softball players, including 26 who have gone on to play at the collegiate level.
A solid player in his own right, Hundley was an All-State selection in football and baseball out of East Hardin High School. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994.
