Matt Bouchard joined the Bellarmine University sprint football team's staff as the linebackers coach prior to the program's inaugural season in 2022.
In the program's first year, Bellarmine had a winning season. The Knights in 2022 went 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the Midwest Sprint Football League, good for third place in the conference. In the first game in program history, Bellarmine captured a 17-15 road victory at Midway on a game-winning 33-yard field goal with 44 seconds left. The Knights earned 12 MSFL All-Conference laurels, including a first-team nod for Caleb Murray at linebacker, Bouchard's position group.
Bouchard is a 2014 graduate of DeSales High School in Louisville, where he played football for three years and was a member of the 2013 2A state championship team. Playing middle linebacker, he was an integral part of the team's ferocious defense. He is in his eighth season of coaching football.
Bouchard has a wife, Jenna, and a son, Brooks.
