Tyler Worley, a former Bellarmine University standout and assistant coach, received a promotion to head men’s tennis coach prior to the 2017-18 season.
Worley will enter his second season as the head men's coach in 2018-19.
Worley had been an assistant coach since 2014 under John Mican, who led both Bellarmine tennis programs. Worley played for Bellarmine from 2007-10 after transferring from Morehead State and, upon his hiring, owned the program’s longest singles winning streak since 2006-07 at 12 straight matches. His 27 total victories in 2007-08 ranked him tied for seventh on the all-time single-season wins list, and he and Paul Clark ranked as the second winningest doubles team in program history after accumulating 28 victories together.
Worley’s presence in the local tennis community extends beyond his affiliation with the Knights. After graduating from Bellarmine with a business administration degree in 2010, the Louisville Male High School product managed Plainview Tennis Center and ran the juniors and adults programs at Louisville Tennis Center while being an area sales manager for River City Distributing from 2012-15.
Worley is the physical education teacher at Louisville Classical Academy and continues to coach juniors and adults in the area in his spare time.
