Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Led by dominant pitching, the Bellarmine University baseball team shutout Kentucky State University in a nonconference game on Wednesday afternoon at Knights Field.

Austin Warner (W, 2-1) struck out the first six Thorobreds he faced, and finished his start with nine punch-outs in four innings pitched, allowing just one hit.  Freshmen took over in the middle innings, as Evan McNair and Joshua Jiminez allowed five baserunners in the ensuing four innings, while Justin Strohmeier completed the shutout by striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Alec Bahnick went 2-for-2 with a run and three runs batted in, as 16 different Knights had plate appearances in the game,  First baseman Michael Morrissette scored a pair of runs while going 2-for-3 before being replaced in the seventh inning.

The Knights return to Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday with a doubleheader against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.  Originally scheduled to be played in Kenosha, Wisc., the games on Friday and Saturday have been moved to Knights Field because of poor weather conditions in the Great Lakes area.  First pitch is scheduled for noon.
