LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine Women's tennis team opened its 2013 spring break trip with a 7-2 victory over Wartburg Colllege on Monday in Kissimmee, Fla., at the Oak Street Park tennis facility.
Playing an outdoor match for the first time this spring, the players had to endure 40-degree temperatures as the match started. "Both the players and the temperature warmed up quickly," said Bellarmine Coach
John Mican with Bellarmine opening starting strong playing singles first, winning five of the six matches.
Wartburg--also nicknamed the Knights--finished added just one more point as the Bellarmine women took two out of three doubles. "We are looking forward to the rest of the spring break as the competetion will get tougher and the girls will have to improve," Mican said.
