Box Score 2 LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University baseball team closed their weekend series against the University of Indianapolis with a pair of losses on Sunday afternoon at Knights Field.

Game One: Indianapolis 6, Bellarmine 2 Box Score
A two-run home run by Indianapolis first baseman Jake Hartley opened the game's scoring in the third inning, and the Knights could not recover in the seven-inning game.
First baseman
Michael Morrissette went 3-for-4 from the plate with a run scored in the seventh inning, while centerfielder
Austin Crutcher scored the other Bellarmine run.
Starting pitcher
Jason Sterrett (L, 3-3) allowed three earned runs off nine hits, while striking out four batters in 6.1 innings of work.
Kevin Herren and
Justin Strohmeier each recorded an out in relief.
Game Two: Indianapolis 10, Bellarmine 0 (Final/8 innings) Box Score
The Knights failed to score in the late game, and succumbed to the 10-run rule after eight innings in the scheduled nine-inning contest.
Bellarmine recorded five hits in the game, and three of those came off the bat of left fielder
Jes Staples. As a team, the Knights could only put two runners in scoring position, as Indianapolis' Matthew Kaplanis (W, 3-0) pitched the complete game.
Starter
Curtis McCombs (L, 2-2) took the loss for BU, striking out one in 1.1 innings.

Bellarmine (20-18, 15-11 GLVC) returns to the diamond on Wednesday for a non-conference, non-regional doubleheader with the University of Saint Francis (Ind.). First pitch is scheduled for noon at Knights Field.
