LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Bellarmine University volleyball team was swept for the first time this season as the visiting McKendree Bearcats took a 26-24, 25-22, 25-18 victory in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match in Knights Hall this afternoon.
The Knights posted an attack percentage of just .118, while the Bearcats swung at a .264 clip to pick up the win.
McKendree (10-5, 5-1 GLVC) was led by Arela Williams with 11 kills and Sophie Fairman, who recorded nine kills while hitting .421.
Hayden Dailey paced the Knights with 11 kills while picking up seven digs.
Bellarmine fell to 11-4 overall and 2-4 in the GLVC.
The Knights return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Evansville, Indiana to take on the University of Southern Indiana.
Bellarmine's next home match is Friday, Oct. 7, but will be played at Cardinal Arena on the campus of the University of Louisville due to a scheduling conflict with Knights Hall.
