EVANSVILLE, Ind.--The Bellarmine University volleyball team put together one of its strongest matches of the season to dispatch the homestanding Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles in straight sets (25-22, 25-19, 25-23) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at USI's Physical Activities Center.

The Knights got double-doubles from both
Margaret Horihan (17 kills, 14 digs) and
Hayden Dailey (14 kills, 10 digs) and another incredible defensive effort from Jordan Kuchenbrod (26 digs) to improve to 12-4 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

Utilizing three different setters in tonight's match, Bellarmine's offense responded by hitting .305—just the second time this season the Knights have eclipsed the .300 threshold.Â

Dailey led the way for the Knights, hitting .481 with just one attack error on the night. Senior right side hitter
Ashley Jefferson had another effective night, swinging at a .364 clip while picking up nine kills.

Junior
Allie Muha posted 31 assists but shared setting duties with
Abby Biggs (9 assists) and
Teyah Leinenbach (7 assists).

Southern Indiana (7-9, 2-5 GLVC) was paced by Amy Zwissler with 16 kills, but the Screaming Eagles were held to an attack percentage of just .169 as the Knights out-dug USI 63-56 and outblocked their hosts 7-3.

Bellarmine returns to action on Friday as they host the 13
th-ranked Lewis Flyers in a 7 p.m. However, due to a scheduling conflict, the home match will be played at the University of Louisville's Cardinal Arena (2100 South Floyd Street). The Knights return to Knights Hall for Saturday's 3 p.m. match with Wisconsin-Parkside.
