ST. LOUIS—Despite a record-breaking performance by libero
Jordyn Kuchenbrod, the Bellarmine University volleyball lost in straight sets (25-23, 25-17, 25-19) to Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Missouri-St. Louis tonight at the Mark Twain Center.
Kuchenbrod not only tied her career high with 40 digs in the contest, she also broke the Bellarmine school record for most digs in a season. After today's match, Kuchenbrod stands at 736 digs on the year to best the 710 that Jaclyn Ohlmann accumulated in 2013.
Bellarmine struggled with its attack game managing just a .022 hitting percentage in the match. The Tritons, meanwhile, hit .210, led by Kylie Rudinski, who posted 10 kills with an attack percentage of .417.
Margaret Horihan led Bellarmine with 10 kills with
Ashley Jefferson chipping with six while hitting at a .294 clip.
Bellarmine falls to 18-10 overall and 7-8 in league play, while Missouri-St. Louis improves to 15-11, 9-6 GLVC.
The Knights will close out their home season on Tuesday when they entertain Southern Indiana in a 7 p.m. match.
