Ciara Incorvati put Knollman in scoring position on third after flying out to right field.
Lillie Nitzken smacked the ball up the middle, sending Knollman home for the final run for the Knights.
Neither team was able to produce anymore offense until the final inning of the game. With runners on second and third and one out, Kurtz struck out the next two batters to end the game.
Ely led the Knights going 2-for-3 and collecting one RBI. Fox also went 2-for-3 at the plate. Kurtz (1-4) picked up her first win from the circle, striking out six batters, allowing only four hits and no runs.

In similar fashion, the Knights scored first in game two in the bottom of the second. Leading off, Incorvati hit a double. The Miners' Courtney Jackson walked the next two batters, making it a bases-loaded situation.
Tabby Shewmaker reached on fielder's choice, and the catcher tagged Incorvati out before she reached home. With the bases still loaded, Fox's right field single drove in Stamper.
The Miners were able to make it out of the second with only one Bellarmine run, but were unable to answer with their own run in the top of the third.
Tevis made it to first via a base on balls, and then advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Megan Bretz's sacrifice bunt put Tevis on third. She made it home on Incorvati's groundout to third base, giving the Knights a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
Bellarmine added another run in the fifth after Ely was hit by a pitch and made it home on Bretz's double.
The Miners performed in crunch time, but the two runs tallied in the seventh weren't enough to knock off the Knights.
Bretz led Bellarmine, going 1-for-2 at the plate and tallying one RBI. Tevis (1-3) also picked up her first win in the circle, pitching all seven innings and striking out four batters.
The Knights take to the field again tomorrow for their second conference match up. The doubleheader against Drury University will begin at noon with the second game to follow.
