LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University baseball team was swept Saturday by No. 7 Quincy in a doubleheader at Knights Field by scores of 6-0 and 11-4.
Jake Peterson (2-0) owned the first game for Quincy (5-0), tossing a five-hit, nine-inning shutout that included five strikeouts and no walks. The Hawks starter got all the run support he needed when David Jacob lifted a solo homer in the first. Quincy added another run in the third, one more in the fourth, two in the seventh and a final run in the ninth.

Cole Metcalfe had three of the five hits for Bellarmine (3-5) in the opener, including a double. Senior center fielder
Jes Staples and sophomore shortstop
Drew Greenwood had one apiece.
In the second game, Bellarmine rallied from a 3-0 deficit to take a 4-3 lead in the third behind sophomore left fielder
Griffin Neuer's two-run homer, but Quincy responded with five runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth while the Knights didn't score again.
Bellarmine picked up eight hits in the second game. Greenwood had two, including an RBI double, while Neuer, Metcalfe, junior first baseman

Michael Belliveau and sophomore second baseman
Trevor Lines had one apiece.
Quincy tallied 14 hits in the second game, with six different players recording two. Graham Spraker (1-0) threw 6.0 innings to earn the win.
