INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Another record day for senior pitcher
Ally Foster, but the Bellarmine University softball team fell to No. 1 University of Indianapolis (34-1, 17-2 GLVC) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader at Baumgartner Field on Sunday afternoon. Game one presented a classic battle of the pitchers in which UIndy's Morgan Foley outdueled Foster, allowing the Knights only two hits as the Greyhounds took the 2-0 decision. In game two, Foster's three-run homer sparked Bellarmine, but ultimately wasn't enough to overcome UIndy in the 3-9 loss.
The Knights (21-21, 8-8 GLVC) continue on the road at Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday and Lewis University on Sunday. Both doubleheaders will begin at 1 p.m. eastern time.

With Foster and Foley battling throughout the game, the first and only runs were not scored until the bottom of sixth when three singles and a double put the Greyhounds up 2-0.
Foster tied Kara Houston in the school's all-time doubles record in game one and went on the break the record in game two with her 44
th career double.
Kelly Ely and Foster were the only Knights able to tally hits. Foster led going 1-for-2 at the plate and striking out eight batters from the circle.

The Greyhounds came out swinging in the first inning, tallying two early runs after the Knights were unable to get off a hit.
Bellarmine finally started their offense in the third inning.
Allison Woosley singled to short just after
Megan Bretz singled to center field. Foster connected for a three-RBI home run over the center field wall to give the Knights their first lead of the day.
UIndy quickly tied the game once again in the bottom of the third when Katie Kelly singled to left field, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error. The Greyhounds poured on runs, and a two-RBI homer from Brooke Riess put UIndy ahead 9-3 in the bottom of the sixth.
Fox drew a walk as the first batter in Bellarmine's seventh inning, and push. Foster's record-breaking double to left center field advanced Fox to third, but the two were left stranded.
Foster, who went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs, led the Knights. She was saddled with the loss after pitching 1.2 innings in relief of
Madeline Kurtz.
