LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Bellarmine Knights volleyball team improved its season record to 6-0 with a pair of victories on the opening day of the Holiday Inn Airport Fair/Expo Center Kickoff Classic today at Knights Hall.
Bellarmine opened the tourney with a convincing straight-sets victory over the University of West Georgia before capping the first day with a 3-1 win over Tiffin University.
Against West Georgia, Bellarmine breezed in the opening set 25-8 as they held the Wolves to a .032 attack percentage while scoring on 53.6 percent of their attacks. The Knights tacked on 25-18 and 25-14 wins in games two and three to take the match.

Abbie Oetting led all hitters with 13 kills while setter
Allie Muha recorded her fourth double-double in five matches with 31 assists and 10 digs.
Margaret Horihan added 10 kills and swung at a .375 rate for the Knights.
In their second match of the day, the Knights rang up 69 kills as Muha registered a career high in assists with 62 in the 25-20, 26-28, 25-17, 25-20 victory.
Horihan had another solid outing for Bellarmine with 24 kills and 12 digs. Fellow senior
Hayden Dailey also tallied double digits in kills and digs with 13 and 15 respectively. Matching Dailey with 13 kills for the Knights were
Katie Adams and Oetting.

Jordyn Kuchenbrod collected a season-high 37 digs as she increased her conference-leading digs per set average to 7.41, and
Lydia Lange made her presence felt on the defensive side of the net with a pair of solo blocks and three assisted blocks.
The Knights return to action tomorrow with matches at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. against Arkansas-Fort Smith and Trevecca Nazarene.
