MONTEVALLO, Ala. — Montevallo completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Bellarmine University baseball team with an 11-0 victory Sunday.
Bellarmine (0-3) collected only two hits, with one each coming from senior shortstop
Drew Greenwood and senior second baseman
Alex Ralph. Unfortunately, strikeouts were the theme of the series against Montevallo (8-3), as the Knights fanned 12 times Sunday after striking out 16 and 14 times over the first two games.
Montevallo scored once in the second, two in the fifth, three in the sixth and five in the seventh. The Falcons had 15 hits.
Sophomore right-hander
Jacob Nagel (0-1) took the loss. Steven Skolarz (2-0) earned the win after allowing a single hit with eight strikeouts over 6.0 innings pitched.
Bellarmine hosts Ashland in a doubleheader starting at noon (ET) Saturday.
