SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The visiting Bellarmine University lacrosse team rallied back from a four-goal deficit to tie, but the Knights could never overtake the lead from Utah as the Utes pulled out a 10-9 victory Saturday at McCarthey Stadium.
Bellarmine (0-6) lost its second straight one-goal game and third overall this season. Utah (4-3) won its third consecutive match, with the last two coming by a single goal.
Bellarmine trailed 6-2 after the first quarter, but the Knights shut out the Utes in the second period and for about half of the third. In the meantime, the offense chipped away, knotting it at 6-6 with 7:55 left in the third when

The teams were tied at 7-all when Utah bridged the third and fourth quarters with a pair of goals less than a minute apart.
Brayden Brown answered for Bellarmine to cut the deficit in half, but Utah pushed its advantage back to two goals at 10-8 with 9:13 left.
There would only be one more goal the rest of the match.
Blake Roshkowski scored with 4:21 remaining to get Bellarmine within 10-9. The Knights attempted a shot with 27 seconds left, but Liam Donnelly made his 12th save of the contest.
Jordan Dondoyano was credited with 10 saves for Bellarmine.
Turner Lockyear won 12-of-22 faceoffs.
Bellarmine opens Southern Conference play by hosting Jacksonville at noon (ET) next Saturday at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
