Pfaadt acknowledged in list of top 100 college prospects eligible for 2020 MLB draft

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University rising junior pitcher Brandon Pfaadt has been recognized among D1Baseball's list of the top 100 college prospects eligible for the 2020 Major League Baseball draft.

Pfaadt is ranked at No. 51 fresh off pitching this past summer in the venerable Cape Cod League for the Wareham Gatemen. The right-hander's stock was buoyed by his performance for the Gatemen — D1Baseball had previously tabbed him as the 24th best prospect from players who competed in the Cape eligible for the 2020 and 2021 MLB drafts.

In addition, Pfaadt was acknowledged among 10 hurlers by Perfect Game for "Outstanding Pitching Performances" in the Cape.

The Louisville native appeared in nine regular-season games for Wareham and went 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA along with 34 strikeouts against eight walks in 32.0 innings pitched. Opposing hitters batted a miniscule .171 against the Trinity (Ky.) High School product.

In his sophomore season at Bellarmine, Pfaadt made a team-high 22 appearances and went 3-3 with three saves and a 4.03 ERA while striking out 50 over 38.0 innings pitched.
