HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Bellarmine University men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season as the visiting Knights were defeated 2-5 Saturday night by Alabama-Huntsville.
Bellarmine (4-1) secured the doubles point as freshman
Emil Bjoerlykke Berglund and sophomore
Michael Staff won 6-4 at No. 2 over Christian Wedel and Philipp Uhde, and freshman
Eli Franks and junior
Sam Rueff captured a 7-6 victory over Tim Nutz and Timo Christen at No. 3.
However, UAH (1-2) won five of the six singles matches. Bjoerlykke Berglund notched the Bellarmine win with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Nutz at No. 3.
Bellarmine will welcome Dayton on Friday for a match at the Tennis Club at Springhurst.
