STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Bellarmine University men's tennis team made its season and Division I debut Friday at Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs, who were also making their season debut, captured a 7-0 win over the Knights.
Mississippi State boasts the Nos. 28th- and 47th-ranked doubles teams in the country, and No. 1 singles player Florian Broska is rated No. 87. The Bulldogs won in straight sets in each singles contest.
Freshman
Emil B. Berglund won four games in the first set and three in the second set at No. 2 for Bellarmine. Freshman
Paul Reynolds, at No. 3, and junior
Evan Bottorff, at No. 4, both captured three games in one of their sets.
Bellarmine will play Sunday at Memphis.
