NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Bellarmine University volleyball team returned to ASUN Conference action on Friday night, falling in straight sets (20-25, 16-25, 16-25) to the host Lipscomb Bisons in Allen Arena.
Lipscomb controlled the play at the net most of the night, owning a 50-32 advantage in kills and outblocking the Knights 7-3. The Bisons hit for a robust .345 attack percentage while limiting Bellarmine to just .104.
Megan Kuper of Lipscomb led all hitters with 14 kills with teammate Kamryn Bacus adding 12.
For Bellarmine,
Izzie Salameh notched a season-high eight kills to lead the Knights' attack with
Bailey Roszman adding six.
Defensively, freshman
Anna Lococo recorded a career-best 15 digs for the Knights while Lipscomb's Alyssa Zwolensky took match-high dig honors with 16.
With the win, Lipscomb improves to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in league play. Bellarmine slips to 1-8, 0-5 ASUN.
The same two teams will meet again on Saturday with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT).
