LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Senior left-hander
Shane Barringer fired 8.0 shutout innings in leading the Bellarmine University baseball team to a series-clinching 5-1 win over North Alabama in ASUN action Saturday afternoon at Knights Field.
Barringer (1-3) racked up eight strikeouts and allowed only two hits in his 8.0 scoreless innings for Bellarmine (6-10, 2-3 ASUN), which notched victories in the first two of the three-game series with North Alabama (1-15, 0-5) and has now won three straight.
Bellarmine scored three of its five runs in the third. Junior center fielder
Jack Ockerman led off with his first homer at Bellarmine, a solo shot to right center.

Clayton Mehlbauer smacked a double to center and scored on senior left fielder
Chris Gambert's single. Bellarmine upped the lead to 3-0 when freshman designated hitter
Drew Buhr followed junior right fielder
Jacob Mulcahy's double with a sacrifice fly.
Mulcahy drove in Bellarmine's final two runs with an RBI single in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the seventh. He had two hits, as did Finerty, Mehlbauer and Gambert.
Bellarmine and North Alabama will conclude the series at 1 p.m. (ET) Sunday at Knights Field.
