CHARLESTON, Ill. — The Bellarmine University baseball team fell 8-1 on the road Tuesday at Eastern Illinois.
Bellarmine (3-7) scored its lone run in the second against EIU (8-5). Junior utility
Jacob Mulcahy led off with a walk, stole second and scored on senior catcher
Patrick Arndt's RBI single.
Arndt collected two of Bellarmine's seven hits. Senior right-hander
Blake Wheeler and freshman right-hander
Ryan Johnson each tossed 1.0 scoreless inning of relief.
Bellarmine committed three errors and three of Eastern Illinois' first four runs were unearned. The Panthers led 4-1 after three innings and 6-1 after five.
Bellarmine opens ASUN play with a three-game series Friday-Sunday at Kennesaw State.
