LOUISVILLE, Ky. — North Alabama rallied to win the final two singles matches in capturing a 4-3 victory over the Bellarmine University men's tennis team Thursday in ASUN play at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
Bellarmine (3-17, 0-4 ASUN) captured the doubles point after sophomores
Cole Groetsch and
Michael Staff won 6-0 over Guilherme Diniz and Tim Heslin of North Alabama (4-10, 2-2) at No. 2 doubles, and freshmen
Emil B. Berglund and
Eli Franks topped Kyle Johnson and Jamie Bixby 6-3 at No. 3.
Freshman
Paul Reynolds bested Kyle Johnson in straight sets at No. 2 singles, and Berglund defeated Diniz in three sets, including a tiebreaker in the clincher, at No. 3. However, UNA was victorious at Nos. 1 and 4 and pushed to the win with three-set victories at Nos. 5 and 6.
Bellarmine hosts Lipscomb on Saturday.
