LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University baseball team will play a midweek game at Austin Peay before wrapping up its ASUN regular-season slate by hosting Lipscomb in a three-game series at Knights Field.

Bellarmine (12-27, 7-14 ASUN) will head to Austin Peay (15-27) for a 7 p.m. (ET) nonconference contest Tuesday before welcoming league rival Lipscomb (15-24, 6-12) for 2 p.m. games Friday and Saturday and a 1 p.m. contest Sunday. The Knights will honor their seniors on Saturday.

Bellarmine hosted Austin Peay on March 23, with the Governors capturing a 9-1 win. The Knights trailed 3-1 after six innings, but Austin Peay pulled away with three runs each in the seventh and eighth innings.

Austin Peay will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak. The Governors were swept over the weekend in a three-game nonconference home series against Arkansas State, falling 12-7, 11-5 and 9-4. Garrett Spain is a team triple crown leader, topping Austin Peay in batting average (.331), home runs (eight) and RBIs (34) while also pacing the Governors in stolen bases (12).

Bellarmine and Lipscomb are tied for third in the ASUN North. The teams played April 1-3 in an earlier series in Nashville, Tennessee, with the Bisons bracketing 9-7 and 14-5 wins around Bellarmine's 7-5 victory in the middle game. Lipscomb lost two of three at home over the weekend to ASUN counterpart North Alabama, regrouping in the finale for a 14-5 win after dropping the first two contests 6-3 and 5-3.

Malik Williams is Lipscomb's leading hitter at .319. Chaz Bertolani tops the Bisons in RBIs with 27, Chris Bashlor in home runs with five and Haddon Adams in extra-base hits with 15 behind nine doubles, four homers and two triples.

Max Habegger (1-7, 6.33 ERA, 29 strikeouts in 42.2 innings), Dylan Bierman (2-3, 5.15, 28 in 36.2) and Logan Van Treeck (3-2, 4.64, 45 in 42.2) were Lipscomb's three starting pitchers in the North Alabama series. Tyler Guilfoil (13 appearances, 1.88 ERA, 43 strikeouts in 28.2 innings) and Tyler Drabick (20, 3.33, 37 in 27.0) have been strong out of the bullpen.

Bellarmine was swept at ASUN North leader Liberty over the weekend, but the last two contests were one-run games. The Knights will look for a resilient effort against Austin Peay after falling in heartbreaking fashion to the Flames in the series finale — after senior second baseman Justin Rouse launched a go-ahead three-run homer with two outs in the top of the ninth, Liberty hit a walk-off two-run homer with two outs in the bottom half.

Junior outfielder Matt Higgins is leading Bellarmine in hitting (.370), RBIs (26) and is tied with senior outfielder Chris Gambert for top home-run honors with seven. Rouse and senior third baseman Josh Finerty are both batting an even .300, with Finerty pacing the Knights with 18 extra-base hits, including 11 doubles. Junior shortstop Clayton Mehlbauer has smacked six homers while the freshman first-base tandem of Noah Nelson and Davis Crane are batting .326 and .319, respectively.

Senior right-hander Deylen Miley leads the ASUN in strikeouts with 78. Senior right-hander Anthony Ethington recently entered the program's all-time top 10 for career pitching appearances and highlighted Bellarmine's effort on the mound in the Liberty series with seven strikeouts in 6.0 strong innings of relief in the second game.

NOTE: Due to commencement festivities, the Newburg Road entrance to Bellarmine's campus is scheduled to be closed from noon-2 p.m. on Saturday.
