CLEVELAND – Amber Hofenk Jerembo is having the best season of her career and perhaps the best stretch of her career over the past month. On Tuesday afternoon, the Mid-American Conference announced Hofenk Jerembo as the MAC Offensive Player of the Week - the second time she has earned the honor in the past three weeks.
MAC Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week:
Amber Hofenk Jerembo, Bellarmine, Forward, Senior
Hofenk Jerembo scored both of Bellarmine's game-winning goals over the weekend, helping them defeat Longwood and Queens in back-to-back days. Hofenk Jerembo scored both of BU's goals against Longwood and half of the senior's shots on goal for the weekend found the back of the cage. Hofenk Jerembo now ranks second in the MAC with nine goals and 17 shots on goal this season.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Macy McHale, Miami, Back, Senior
McHale helped the RedHawk defense limit the opponents to two attack penalty corners and nine shots - only five of which made it on goal. One of those was saved by McHale as the Mountaineers made a final push in the game; McHale's defensive save preserved the lead for Miami who went on to the 3-2 win.
