LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Junior guard
Claire Knies scored a season-high 16 points, but the Bellarmine University women's basketball team fell 69-56 to Wofford on Saturday afternoon in Freedom Hall.

Miyah Brown tallied a career-high 11 points for Bellarmine (4-8) while senior forward
Sheniqua Coatney added 10 points and seven rebounds against Wofford (8-3). Senior forward
Cam Browning hauled in a game-high eight rebounds for the Knights.
Jackie Carman joined Wofford's 1,000-point club in the win. She paced the Terriers with 22 points while Rachael Rose chipped in 11. Carman and Rose combined for 25 points in the first half in powering Wofford to a 31-19 lead.
Neither team shot well, but Wofford succeeded in packing their defense in down low and hindering Bellarmine's interior scoring. The Terriers limited the Knights to only nine made field goals over the first three quarters and just 15 for the game.
Bellarmine also committed 22 turnovers, while Wofford had only 11 giveaways. The Terriers had a decisive 27-7 advantage in points off turnovers.
Wofford's lead swelled to 20 in the third quarter as the Terriers led by double digits throughout the second half.
Bellarmine will wrap up nonconference play by hosting Murray State at 6:30 p.m. (ET) Tuesday.
