LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University baseball team is set for a busy week on the road as the Knights are scheduled for five games.

Bellarmine (1-7) will lead off the week at 4 p.m. (ET) today against Austin Peay State (5-2). That will be a single game, as will a 4 p.m. (ET) contest Wednesday at Murray State (7-0). The Knights will then head to Clinton, South Carolina, for a three-game series at Presbyterian (4-4), with first pitches at 6 p.m. (ET) Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

ABOUT AUSTIN PEAY
Austin Peay is coming off a three-game series sweep of Bowling Green at home to improve to 5-2. The Governors captured victories of 8-2, 9-0 and 7-6. Austin Peay opened the season by taking two of three from Boston College after winning the latter two games 10-9 and 18-17.

Of the hitters who have amassed at least 20 at-bats, five are batting .292 or higher. Of those, John Bolton is hitting .429 and Michael Robinson is batting .400. Over seven games, five players have driven in six runs or more. Austin Peay has a modest four home runs, but the Governors have piled up 22 doubles. Austin Peay carries a 6.68 team ERA. The Governors were picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference.

ABOUT MURRAY STATE
Predicted to finish second in the OVC, Murray State has roared to a 7-0 start to the season after a three-game sweep of Butler and a four-game sweep of Northern Illinois, all at home. The Racers won four of those contests by 10 runs or more.

Murray State's offense has produced at least six runs in every game. The Racers piled up 18 and 25 runs in the last two games of the series against Butler and racked up 13 apiece in the first and third games against Northern Illinois.

Murray State is batting .349 as a team, with five players at .350 or higher. Drew Vogel, at .417, and Jake Slunder, at .406, are pacing the Racers. Slunder's 10 RBIs follows the 13 of Seth Gardner. As sound as the hitting has been, Murray State's baserunning catches the eye to an even greater degree — the Racers are an astonishing 25-for-26 on stolen-base attempts. Seven different players have at least two steals.

ABOUT PRESBYTERIAN
Presbyterian swept a Saturday doubleheader at home against Manhattan by scores of 5-1 and 4-2 to improve to 4-4. The Blue Hose, of the Big South, opened the season by taking two of three from Bellarmine ASUN counterpart North Florida.

Presbyterian, which hosts the College of Charleston today, has been led thus far offensively by Jack Gorman, who is batting .417. On the mound, the Blue Hose carry a solid 4.50 team ERA. Starters Daniel Eagen (1-0, 2.45 ERA, 13 strikeouts, 11 innings) and Duncan Howard (0-1, 2.79, six, 9.2) have been noteworthy. Reliever Luke Matthews has allowed a single run over 9.0 innings in three appearances, all of which lasted at least 2.1 innings.
