LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University baseball team will host Butler at 2 p.m. (ET) Tuesday at Knights Field.

Bellarmine (3-20) and Butler (10-13) will be meeting for the first time in the Knights' Division-I era. Bellarmine has played just four home games thus far, going 2-2 with a 10-6 victory over Morehead State on March 9 that represents the only nonconference game at Knights Field.

ABOUT BUTLER
All 23 of Butler's games this season have been in nonconference play. The Bulldogs, of the Big East, are 1-3 against ASUN opponents this season. Earlier this month, Butler dropped two of three in a series at Jacksonville, falling 4-1 and 11-3 before a 7-3 win, and followed with a 12-6 loss at North Florida.

Butler, which boasts a pair of three-game winning streaks, is coming off a dramatic 11-10 neutral-site victory over Northwestern in which Kollyn All hit a two-out, go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning. Travis Holt is Butler's leading hitter at .358, while Aaron Steinhart tops the Bulldogs in homers (six), doubles (six) and RBIs (22).

Probable starter Cole McDaniel has appeared in five games with four starts and is 1-2 with a 3.32 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 19.0 innings pitched. On March 14 against Western Illinois, McDaniel allowed one earned run on five hits with a season-best four strikeouts in a season-high 6.0 innings pitched.

• On Saturday, in the second game of the series at Eastern Kentucky, Gavin Braunecker threw the second complete game in the D1 era for Bellarmine. In the 2-0 loss, the sophomore lefthander tossed 8.0 innings while allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
